We built the Family Desert Safari after years of feedback that the standard dune bashing can be too intense for very young children and older relatives. You get all the same camp activities, but the off-road portion uses a smoother route and stops more often.

Safety
All vehicles carry approved child seats. Camp is fully fenced with attendants on duty in the play area.
Child policy
Under 5 free of charge. Ages 5–11 at child rate. Highchairs available at the camp.
Cancellation
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup.
Dress code
Comfortable family wear. Bring a light jacket for kids in winter.

Location
All our desert tours operate in the Lahbab desert (also known as the "red dunes") approximately 60 km south-east of Dubai. The drive from central Dubai takes 45–60 minutes depending on traffic.

Frequently asked questions
Is dune bashing safe for a 4-year-old?
On the family route, yes — speeds are halved and the driver avoids the steep slip-faces. We do not recommend dune bashing at any intensity for infants under 3.
