How much does a Desert Safari Dubai tour cost?
Group evening safaris start from AED 30 per adult. Morning and sunrise tours start at AED 130, overnight at AED 140, VIP and private from AED 175, quad bike combos from AED 205, Hummer safaris from AED 1,200 per vehicle. All prices include hotel pickup and applicable taxes.
What's the best time of year to do a desert safari?
October to April is peak season — 20–30°C, comfortable evenings, clear skies. May to September is hotter (35–45°C) but tours still run, and you'll often find lower prices and smaller groups.
Where does the safari take place?
All of our tours run in the Lahbab desert, the famous 'red dunes' about 60 km south-east of Dubai. The drive from your hotel takes around 45–60 minutes.
Is the dune bashing safe?
Yes. Our 4x4s are fitted with safety harnesses, drivers hold UAE Desert Driving Permits, and the fleet is serviced every 5,000 km. Tell your guide if you prefer a gentler ride and they will adjust.
Is hotel pickup included?
Yes — free door-to-door pickup is included from any Dubai hotel, residence or holiday home. Pickup from Sharjah, Ajman or Abu Dhabi can be arranged for a small surcharge.
How long does a typical desert safari take?
Evening safaris run about 6 hours door-to-door (pickup 15:00–15:30, back around 21:30). Morning tours are 4 hours, sunrise 4–5 hours, overnight roughly 17 hours, and Hummer safaris 6–7 hours.
What's included in the safari price?
Free hotel pickup and drop-off in a 4x4, dune bashing on the red dunes, sunset photo stop, camel ride, sandboarding, unlimited BBQ buffet with soft drinks, and live tanoura, belly dance and fire shows. Henna and shisha corner are also free at the camp.
Are vegetarian, vegan and halal meals available?
Yes. The BBQ buffet always includes a wide vegetarian section, and our chefs prepare vegan and gluten-free options on request. All meat is halal.
Can pregnant women or guests with back problems join?
We do not recommend dune bashing during pregnancy or for guests with serious back, neck or heart conditions. A camp-only transfer that skips the off-road section is available — let us know at booking.
Is a desert safari suitable for children?
Yes. Children 3+ can join the standard tour; anyone under 3 rides on a parent's lap and is free. Kids 3–10 pay 50%. Ask for the gentler-drive option if you have very young children.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, loose clothing in breathable fabrics. Closed-toe shoes are best for sandboarding. Bring a light jacket from November to February — desert evenings drop to 10–15°C.
Should I bring cash to the desert camp?
Bring some cash if you plan to buy alcohol at the camp bar (AED 25–40 per drink), quad bike rides (AED 150), falcon photos (AED 20), or tip your driver. All the standard tour inclusions are already paid — nothing else is compulsory.
Is alcohol available at the camp?
Yes, most camps have a cash bar serving beer, wine and select spirits. Alcohol is not included in the standard package.
Can I take photos and drone footage in the desert?
Yes to phone and camera photography anywhere. Drones require prior GCAA approval in Dubai and are not permitted around the camp during shows. Ask us at booking if you want to fly a drone at the dunes.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup on most tours (48 hours for overnight and Hummer, 72 hours for VIP). Reschedules are free of charge subject to availability.
Do you accept card payment?
You can pay in cash on the day or by card via a secure link we send by WhatsApp at booking. We accept Visa, Mastercard and Amex.
Can I book on the same day?
Yes — same-day bookings are usually available if you WhatsApp us before 12:00 for an evening pickup. For weekends and holidays we recommend booking 1–2 days ahead.
Do you pick up from Sharjah, Ajman or Abu Dhabi?
Yes. Sharjah pickup is a small surcharge (AED 20–30), Ajman AED 40–50, Abu Dhabi from AED 100. Timings shift 30–60 minutes earlier for the longer drive. Confirm on WhatsApp when you book.
How many people fit in one 4x4?
Our shared Land Cruisers seat 6 guests plus the driver. If you want the whole vehicle for your family or group only, book a private safari — same route, no strangers.
What happens if I lose something at the camp?
Camp staff run a lost & found and everything is logged. WhatsApp us the item and pickup date and we'll check — most lost phones and jackets are recovered the same evening.
What if it rains?
Desert rain is rare. If a tour is cancelled by us due to weather, you get a full refund or a free reschedule.
