Morning vs Evening Desert Safari Dubai: which should you book?
Side-by-side comparison of Dubai's two most popular safari formats — timings, temperature, price, photos and who each suits best.

The two most-searched Dubai desert safari formats — and they are genuinely different experiences, not just the same tour at different times of day.
Timings
Morning tour: pickup 07:00 (winter) or 06:00 (summer), back at your hotel by 12:00. Evening tour: pickup 15:00–15:30, back by 21:30. If you're jet-lagged east-bound, morning wins. If you're recovering from a late night on Sheikh Zayed Road, evening.
What's included
Both include dune bashing, camel ride, sandboarding and hotel pickup. Only the evening tour includes the full BBQ dinner and live tanoura, belly dance and fire shows. Morning tours include Arabic breakfast or tea and biscuits at a smaller day camp.
Price
Morning from AED 130, evening from AED 30. The evening tour is genuinely cheaper because operators run more vehicles per shift and split the fixed cost of the camp across a much larger group.
Temperature and comfort
In summer, the morning tour is significantly more comfortable — you're done before the worst heat. In winter, the evening tour wins because sitting outside at the camp for dinner is genuinely pleasant.
Photos
Morning light is softer and cleaner; the dunes look almost pink at 07:30. Evening light is warmer and more dramatic, and the camp under fairy lights is unbeatable for social media.
The right pick, in one line
- Traveling with kids under 6 → morning
- First time in Dubai → evening
- Photographer → sunrise (even better than morning)
- On a tight budget → evening
- Summer visitor → morning or overnight
